Molong Solar Farm
About Revera Energy
Revera Energy (Revera) is a clean energy infrastructure platform focussed on developing, building, owning and operating critical energy projects across Australia and the UK. Backed by Carlyle, Revera specialises in battery storage, renewable energy and green hydrogen solutions that support grid resilience and accelerate the energy transition.
We have been actively involved in the Australian renewable energy market since 2017. We currently operate two solar farms in New South Wales namely 119MW Hillston Solar Farm and 39MW Molong Solar Farm. We commenced commercial operations of 150MW / 300MWh (Stage 1) of Bungama BESS in South Australia in May 2026.
We continue to develop a diverse portfolio of projects in South Australia including three hybrid projects namely Bungama Stage 2, Robertstown and Yoorndoo Ilga, which have the potential to deliver up to 3,400 MWh of battery energy storage and up to 1,000 MW of solar generation. We are also developing the Cape Hardy Green Hydrogen Project located on the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia.

About The Project
Molong Solar Farm
Molong Solar Farm is a utility-scale solar photovoltaic project near Molong in central-west New South Wales with an installed capacity of approximately 39 MW. The solar farm was energised in December 2020 and generates approximately 78,000 MWh per year (equivalent to the annual needs of around 11,000 homes) while avoiding roughly 53,500 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
Molong connects into Essential Energy’s distribution network near Molong, New South Wales. The solar farm ties into the Molong Substation via a 1 km long 66 kV underground cable. By feeding directly into the NEM, Molong contributes to the supply of clean electricity across eastern Australia, helping to offset fossil-fuel generation and support the state’s renewable energy targets.
At the end of the solar farm’s life, the site will be rehabilitated in accordance with an approved decommissioning plan, relevant land agreements and legislation of the time.
The Project Includes
-
A network of PV solar panel arrays including single axis trackers
-
Electrical collection systems, a project substation, switchyard and a control room
-
A management hub, with demountable offices, amenities and equipment sheds
-
Parking and internal access roads
-
A short (< 1km) underground cable which connects the solar farm substation to the TransGrid substation.
Renewable Energy Generation
Australia remains a global leader in renewable energy with some of the highest solar generation per capita.
Revera Energy is actively contributing to this transition, operating 158 MW of solar assets in New South Wales, including the Hillston and Molong Solar Farms.
In South Australia, Revera is now focused on the development of three utility-scale battery projects; Bungama, Robertstown, and Yoorndoo.
These projects will provide critical storage capacity to enhance grid reliability, support renewable integration, and deliver dispatchable clean energy.
Community Engagement
Revera is committed to genuine and ongoing community and stakeholder engagement. We have built and maintained a strong relationship with the Molong District Soccer Club.
This partnership began with sponsorship in 2023 and 2024 that helped cover essential costs such as referee fees, registration discounts for players, end-of-season trophies, and team jerseys.
In 2025, the relationship evolved under the Revera Energy brand, reflecting the company’s transition but maintaining its commitment to grassroots sport.
Revera’s sponsorship supported the rebranding of team jerseys, the supply of additional playing kits, referee expenses, and recognition awards for players, including involvement in the club’s annual presentation.
The ongoing partnership reflects Revera’s commitment to ensuring that the benefits of renewable energy projects extend beyond the grid, reaching directly into the communities that host them.
